Its reputation of being able to “dissolve” fat makes this tea highly prized by the Manchu people, who have a very meat-heavy diet. Black fermented tea (or “pu erh”) from the prefecture of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province, China. Develops highly characteristic flavours of damp undergrowth and less common floral and sugary notes of rose petals.
